Annual audits for East Windsor and Hightstown, released this week, turned up no major problems.
The Hightstown audit yielded only one corrective recommendation: that the construction office deposit receipts within 48 hours of receiving them.
The East Windsor audit resulted in five recommendations. However auditor Bud Jones of Nisivoccia & Co. said they are all minor and characterized the audit as “excellent” overall.
Among recommendations made for East Windsor were to consider implementing an accounting system for fixed assets, which are pieces of property the township will have for at least several years like automobiles and buildings.
The auditor also recommended that a reconciliation of accrued compensated absences be prepared, which is a calculation of how much vacation and sick time was paid to municipal employees.
The auditor also suggested that engineering receipts be deposited in a timely manner.
Mr. Jones said, to his knowledge, all of his recommendations have been undertaken.
