MANVILLE: Rec wrestlers earn more medals

Rogalski, Ulicny capture gold

   Manville Recreation’s young guns went to Mount Olive on Feb. 8 to wrestle in a tournament. Nine of the 10 Manville youth wrestlers who competed received medals.
   Matt Rogalski pinned his way to first place with a third period fall in his first match. He finished things off with a first period pin in his final match. Scott Ulicny took first place in his bracket by winning two of three matches. Ulicny won 8-6 in his first match and pinned in his second.
   RJ Thompson took a third place medal beating his opponent 18-15. Jake Tokarzewski took home a second place medal. Jason Thompson also got a second place medal. Joe Kronmaier took a third place medal by winning his last match 12-5. Gian Carlo took a second place medal also.
   Dylan Whitenight took second place by winning his last match 8-6 with an overtime takedown. Michael Tyle took the second place medal by pinning his first opponent in the first period.
   Manville was able to come away with a couple of medals at a tournament in South Plainfield. Bob Demeter by winning two bouts, was able to take home a third place medal. Paul Basta, who won a match, was able to get a fourth place medal.
   Manville also sent some kids to Kenilworth on Feb. 14 and came away with three more medals. Shane Demeter, by winning two of three matches, came away with a third place medal. Jason Thompson came away with a first place medal of his own. Michael Tyle, by winning his first match, earned the second place medal to finish the day off for Manville.
