HOBOE HITS THE ROAD TO JERSEY
Hoboe plants seed in Garden State
Portland, Maine February 23, 2009 — Hoboe, the eclectic art-rock band featuring an amplified oboe from Portland, Maine visits New Jersey for three shows in the first week of March.  The tour will include their second performance sharing the stage with psychedelic garage band, The Doughboys.
Hoboe will first perform at Mexicali Blues Cafe in Teaneck on Thursday, March 5th, opening for the Doughboys; Friday, March 6th, kicking off a night of indie rock bands at the Brighton Bar in Long Branch; and Saturday, March 7th, headlining at the Barrington Coffee House in Barrington, with support from solo bassist Cooke Harvey.
"We’re really excited to come to Jersey," says oboist Zen Ben, "every time we leave Maine, people extend a heck of a lot of good will our way.  Everywhere we go, people come out with intrigue to check out our rock band with the oboe."
Hoboe has played exclusively in New England for the past year, this will be their first performance outside of the region.   Hoboe hopes to expand its reach and develop a fan base outside of Maine and New England, and plans to head back to Philadelphia in May, when its first CD may be ready for release.
Hoboe allows video and sound recordings of its performances, and may be able to provide free admission to arts, entertainment and music writers with advance notice.
