Belmar, NJ, February 23, 2009 – The Belmar Arts Council (BAC) will host a benefit concert at the Belmar Elementary School on Sunday April 26th at 3 PM, featuring original compositions by guest composers of Westminster Choir College of Rider University. The premiered compositions will be performed by a string quartet as well as a variety of other musicians, including a custom ensemble choir from Westminster Choir College.
The concert will feature new works in a variety of genres and showcase Westminster’s exceptional young talent. Patrice Malone, a Westminster composer and Manasquan resident, spent June through August with the Belmar Arts Council and organized the fundraiser to celebrate that experience. Following the concert, there will be a reception to meet the composers and musicians, with a silent auction of artwork by BAC members and raffle of a café table featuring BAC’s signature original tabletop art. Tickets will be sold for $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. To learn more about this event please visit the BAC website at www.belmararts.org , and read our blog at http://belmarts.blogspot.com.
Dues, donations and grants fund the Belmar Arts Council’s programs. BAC’s events are made possible in part by the Monmouth County Arts Council through funding from the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, through the County Historical Commission, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.
