By John Patten, Managing Editor
An undercover investigator was injured when he was struck by a vehicle at about 7:15 p.m. on South Main Street.
According to witnesses, the officer — who has not been identified yet — was airlifted for medical treatment.
According to early reports, Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne Forrest said the officer was intentionally hit by a vehicle driven by a woman near the Pourman’s Pub on South Main Street. The woman has been taken into custody.
Police from Manville, Hillsborough and Bridgewater, along with Sheriff’s officers and the Prosecutor’s Office all responded to the incident. Investigators were checking vehicles in a parking lot next to the pub.
