The Windsor-Hights Herald this week learned it had won three awards in the 2008 New Jersey Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.
Managing Editor Vic Monaco won a first-place Responsible Journalism award for an editorial criticizing the Hightstown Borough Council for discussing a dispute over a chicken coop over a period of about 10 months.
Staff photographer Phil McAuliffe won a first-place illustrations award for his photo “Gas price.”
And former staff writer Matt Chiappardi earned a second-place news writing award for a story on several Samaritans pulling an East Windsor police officer from a burning patrol car after an accident in October.
