As of Monday, the school district had received 203 responses to its Strategic Planning Survey, but residents have until Friday to file responses, Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Scott Rocco said.
”Information from the survey will be used to generate a report that will help the strategic planning committee gauge the public’s views on the district,” Mr. Rocco said. “A strategic planning committee will then be formed to work on a three- to five-year plan for the district. The timeline is for the plan to be completed prior to the start of next school year.”
The first part of developing the long-term strategic plan is gathering information from the community; the district will use the survey to gather the information. Input from the survey will determine the district’s mission, vision, and direction for the next three to five years, and allow the Strategic Planning Committee to gauge residents’ feelings, perceptions, needs, and wants.
The survey is available on line at http://www.hillsborough.k12.nj.us/hillsborough/cwp/view.asp?A=3&Q=305651 until March 6. Residents can obtain hard copies of the survey at the Board of Education Office, district schools, and public library. Surveys must be completed and returned to the Board of Education Office no later than Friday.
”This was the first strategic planning survey released on the Web,” Mr. Rocco said. “We notified the public through the district newsletter, Web site, newspaper, and the building principals put information in their monthly newsletters.”
