ROBBINSVILLE: POLICE BEAT

Sherry Wheeler, 42, of Georgia, was charged Feb. 26 with hindering and obstructing justice.
Police said Ms. Wheeler, a passenger in an automobile involved in an accident in front of Lamp & Shade Studio on Route 130, gave a false name to an officer. After the driver gave police Ms. Wheeler’s real name, police arrested her because she turned up on the National Crime Information Center as having an outstanding warrant for forgery in Greene County, Ga. Robbinsville police said that after the Greene County Sheriff’s Department declined to send an officer to extradite Ms. Wheeler on the outstanding charge, Ms. Wheeler posted the $250 bail for New Jersey charges and was released.

Olen Allen, 20, of Willingboro, was charged Feb. 28 with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, less than 50 grams.
Police said Mr. Allen was stopped just after midnight on Route 130 when a patrolman noticed that one of his headlights was out. The patrolman reported that he saw a blunt —a cigar with material suspected to be marijuana protruding from the end —in plain sight and called for the police dog handler to bring a dog to sniff for drugs. The dog indicated the presence of marijuana, police said.
