Roxey Ballet presents Cinderella

By
Lambertville, New Jersey – Mar 1, 2009 As its last production of the 2009 season, Roxey Ballet will revive its full length ballet,"Cinderella", for its "Children’s Classic Stories" concert. One of the best-loved stories of all time comes to vibrant life through Mark Roxey’s imaginative choreography and the lush score by Sergei Prokofiev. Enjoy the story of the stepsisters’ comic antics, some "fairy dust", a handsome prince, and an ill treated servant girl who, against all odds, finds true love. Sets, costumes, and lighting are masterfully combined in a visually stunning presentation of this favorite fairy tale. "This production promises to be a shining example of the magic of dance" says Paula Sharik, Company Manager of Roxey Ballet.
Julia Cobble and Marc St-Pierre, who most recently thrilled audiences and critics alike with their dramatic portrayals of Carmen and Don Jose in this past February’s " More Amor", will dance the roles of Cinderella and her handsome Prince. Paul Mirowsky and Laura Crimi will host Cinderella’s Ball as the King and Queen. Tim Blaike and Mark Roxey will reprise the hilarious roles of the ugly and evil stepsisters. Also appearing will be Joanna DeFelice as the Fairy God Mother, Evalina Wallis Cain as the Winter Fairy, and Blair Titkemeier as the Spring Fairy.
