The Bordentown High School boys’ basketball team was defeated by Middlesex in the opening round of the Central Jersey Group II playoffs this past Tuesday, 51-46.
The game was originally scheduled to be held on Monday, but was pushed back a day because of the snow.
Bordentown was ready to go, taking a 10-8 lead over the first quarter. Middlesex fought back to take a 23-20 lead at the half. Middlesex stretched its advantage to 38-31 after three quarters. Bordentown won the fourth quarter (15-13) but not by enough to win the game.
Casey Nunez (13 points), Joseph Ricks (12 points) and George Williams (11 points) all scored in double figures for Bordentown. Gary Carthan added nine points.
