Barbara DiCostanzo, Junior League of Greater Princeton
Princeton The Junior League of Greater Princeton is searching for a Princeton area home for its 16th Designer Showhouse & Gardens to take place in the spring of 2010.
The ideal house has 25 or more design spaces and generous grounds that can be transformed by top interior and landscape designers to become an elegant show place of style and design.
The JLGP Showhouse fundraiser has become a springtime tradition in the Princeton area. Patrons are treated to an insider’s view of an exclusive property of architectural or historic significance, showcasing exceptional design talent.
The property owner whose home serves as the Designer Showhouse is treated to an array of creative design solutions developed specifically for each unique space.
Previous JLGP Designer Showhouses have been featured in prominent national magazines including “Better Homes and Gardens” and “Traditional Home.”
The JLGP will take possession of the house and property during the project and for several months prior so that designers can complete their work.
Proceeds from the Designer Showhouse provide funding for the JLGP’s mission and community projects.
Our focus area is early childhood literacy and our major impact project is “ROCKETS” (Raising Our Children’s Knowledge by Educating Through Science).
Money raised by the 2008 Designer Showhouse helped to fund a science and math curriculum at Trenton Head Start and the YWCA Princeton’s Valley Road Pre-School, the offering of a teacher-training science seminar for area pre-school educators, and several grants and scholarships in the last year.
Proceeds from the 2010 Designer Showhouse would fund the expansion and continuation of these programs.
Interested homeowners are invited to call the Junior League of Greater Princeton Headquarters at (609) 771-0525 or email [email protected].
