Steak dinner: It’s time again for the Sixth Annual South Brunswick Public Library Foundation’s All-You-Can-Eat Beef Steak Dinner at the South Brunswick Senior Center. Tables will be ready for seating and plates will be ready for filling at 7 p.m. Guests are welcome to consume as much filet mignon, beer and soda, salad and potato fries as they like. Real estate seminar: The Real Estate Market Awareness Seminar presented by Coldwell Banker from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the South Brunswick Public Library. Purim in Mexico: Chabad Jewish Center of South Brunswick will present its Annual Purim Celebration. The entire Jewish community is invited regardless of affiliation or background. This year’s Purim around the world theme is Purim in Mexico, featuring Megillah Reading at 6 p.m. with a simultaneous slide show. Come dressed up for the Masquerade Contest in the costume of your choice. We will have a delicious Purim fiesta of Mexican and American cuisine, including hamantashen, cotton candy, popcorn and many other treats. Fun and Entertainment for the entire family will include a Purim piñata, Mexican themed crafts, and lots of fun games. The main highlight will be a Drum Cafe, led by a world renowned spectacular drummer. Everyone, men, woman and children will get their own drum and drum together to Mexican and various rhythms and beats. Trip to a battleship: The Senior Center is sponsoring a trip to the Battleship New Jersey, located on the waterfront in Camden. This is a one and a half to two hour guided tour of the ship and includes lots of walking and some stair/ladder climbing. There is a multimedia room for those that may have limited mobility. The cost is $18 per person which includes admission, tour and transportation. You may register on or after Feb. 11 in person at the senior center.Lunch will be on our own at a restaurant to be determined. This is open to residents of South Brunswick 55 and over. Seniors only art show: South Brunswick’s Senior Citizens are invited to a special “Seniors Only” viewing of the school district’s fifth annual Student Art Gallery from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at South Brunswick High School, 750 Ridge Road. Seniors are asked to register through the Senior Center, 732-329-4000, ext. 7670 no later than Monday, April 13. Bus transportation will be provided by the Senior Center. Those interested in providing their own transportation may do so.

Sacred cantata: The Choir from the First Baptist Church of Browns Mills will play in the historic Fresh Ponds Chapel, at the corner of Fresh Ponds and Davidsons Mill roads, at 7:30 p.m. The theme is The risen Savior, ending the season of Eastertide. Free.

Meet the author: Samantha Schutz, author of “I don’t want to be crazy” will be coming to the library to discuss her poetic memoir from 7 to 8 p.m. In her poetic memoir Ms. Schutz recalls when she first left home for college and subsequently discovered that, as pressures increased, she began to suffer severe anxiety attacks. This discovery began a journey of recovery and coping. Copies of the book to purchase are anticipated Ms. Schutz will autograph. Registration is not required. This is especially for teens in grades six through 12, but is open to all. The event will be in Program Room 2, the octagon room. Refreshments will be provided. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the South Brunswick Public Library.

Pedals for Progress: Pedals for Progress will hold its 10th collection at South Brunswick High School, 750 Ridge Road, from 12 to 3 p.m. Items may be donated from now until June 6. This year we will collect used bikes, sewing machines, soccer balls and cleats. Items for collection should be accompanied by a check to “Pedals for Progress” to help cover shipping costs ($10 for bikes/sewing machines and $2 for soccer items).Tax deduction receipts are available.
