Two incumbents and one newcomer will be on the ballot for three township seats on the East Windsor Regional School District Board of Education in the April 21 election.
Incumbents Kennedy Paul and Bruce Ettman will seek re-election, and first-
time candidate Paul Connolly will seek election to a seat being vacated by James Hauck.
Mr. Ettman, an attorney, is a former board president and is seeking his fifth term. He was first elected in 1997.
Mr. Paul was tapped in February 2006 to fill a seat vacated by Stu Dolgon. He won a full three-year term in April 2006 and is running for his first re-election.
Mr. Connolly did not return a call seeking comment.
Mr. Hauck is stepping aside after two terms on the board. He is a teacher at Middlesex County Vocational and Technical School, and the president of the teachers association there. He said he chose not to run again because he wants to concentrate on his responsibilities at the vocational school.
He also said he found it frustrating as an educator to be on the Board of Education.
“You see things from a different perspective,” Mr. Hauck said. “I believe in education. I think it is the future of our country. But I think I can contribute more as a member of the public than on the board.”
