HIGHTSTOWN: Police Beat

    Frank Asmar, 33, of Stockton Street, was charged Feb. 27 with disorderly conduct.
    Police said they responded to a report at 2:23 a.m. of a suspicious male banging his head on the windows of businesses on Ward Street. Police said Mr. Ward was found highly intoxicated and was belligerent toward officers as they attempted to identify him.

    Rejat Rustagi, 43, of Hillsborough, was charged Feb. 28 with contempt of court.
    Police said a random license plate inquiry performed at 7:06 p.m. on Franklin Street revealed that Mr. Rustagi had an active traffic warrant from Raritan Borough Municipal Court in the amount of $250.

    The owner of a 2005 Ford reported that the vehicle had been vandalized between 1:30 a.m. and 2:18 a.m. March 1 while parked outside the Lakeside Tavern. The owner said the vehicle had been spat upon, cereal had been thrown on the windshield and the windshield had been cracked, causing $250 in damage.

    Ricky Turner, 37, of Grant Avenue, was charged Monday with contempt of court.
    Police said a random license plate inquiry revealed that Mr. Turner was operating a vehicle with an expired registration. He later was found to have two active traffic warrants in the amount of $125 each from the Newark Municipal Court.

    Virgilio Martinez, 44, of East Windsor, turned himself into police headquarters at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday on a $1,000 criminal warrant issued by the Hightstown Borough Municipal Court. He was also found to have a $514 active warrant from the East Windsor Municipal Court.
    He was unable to post bail and was being held by the Hightstown Police Department awaiting court, police said.
