POMEGRANATE is a brand new 20,000 sq foot kosher “Whole Foods,” offering a vast selection of kosher products including homemade gourmet kosher items that are not manufactured or sold by any other kosher purveyor.

This year POMEGRANATE will become NY’s LARGEST PASSOVER MARKETPLACE, with the greatest selection for Passover including items never imagined kosher for Passover.
In-store events, Passover food samplings, recipes, and chefs are available on-site or in-studio. Passover Kitchen tours available too.  Customers from all over the tri-state area make Pomegranate a Sunday destination for their kosher shopping needs.

Rare Cuts of Meat, Exotic Cheeses, Dips and Salads Top the Passover Offerings at POMEGRANATE, NY’s Largest Passover Marketplace
Store Will remain Open 24 Hrs. for four straight days
March 2009 — On the first night of Passover children ask the question at the Seder table, “What makes this night different from all other nights?” The answer: Pomegranate.
The unique new kosher supermarket POMEGRANATE, which opened its doors in Brooklyn, NY last August  with a wide assortment of gourmet and healthy kosher foods, will offer untraditional and hard to find foods for Passover this  year. POMEGRANATE offers more than 250 homemade delicacies including fish, rare cuts of meat, salads, sauces, dips and exotic cheeses under the highest kosher standards.
“We pride ourselves on offering unique fare, wide selections, top quality and all at competitive prices,” says Avrohom Banda, the store’s owner and architect of this unique shopping experience.   With 20,000 square feet extending almost one block long on Coney Island Ave, the store has the capacity to do so. “Anything you can find at your local kosher grocer you can find here, but not vice versa. We employ culinary trained chefs, our own fish-monger and operate three state-of-the-art kitchens which produce homemade foods that are not manufactured or sold by any other kosher purveyor.  We offer dishes never imagined for the Passover holidays. “
“For those looking for something truly different this Passover, shoppers can choose from among   homemade pastas, handmade ice cream and cones, croutons, cheeses in unusual flavors, and prime cuts of beef and chicken, as well as sushi –sans the rice – of course,” says Mayer Gold, General Manager of Pomegranate.    “Of course, we have traditional items such as homemade chicken soup, kugel  and gefilte fish, as well as traditional foods with unusual flavors and combinations.
In an effort to help homemakers and housewives make the transition from non-Passover to Passover, the store will be open an unprecedented 24/6 for four straight days leading up to the holiday that starts Wednesday, April 8 at sundown.   Also available is POMEGRANATE’s Passover Planner with informative ideas for menus and recipes, and a holiday calendar.
“We know that Passover can be an expensive holiday for many families, especially in these very difficult times. Our prices are competitive on many items and in some cases even lower than at neighboring stores, and we offer weekly specials as well. We are not more expensive than other kosher stores, we just offer something beyond what ordinary kosher stores do, that is what sets us apart,” Mr. Banda added.
Because of POMEGRANATE’s unique offerings, the store attracts buyers from all over the tri-state area, and has become a virtual Sunday destination for many. The store also offers convenient valet parking, extended store hours and home delivery.
Note to Media: Store tours, culinary demos, Passover recipes and Passover product samples are available to the media. Chefs are available for in-studio demos. For arrangements please contact Andover Communications, 201-947-4133.
