Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County to hold
 27th Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake Fundraising Event
 
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County, Inc. will hold its 27th annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake community fundraising event on Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 12 pm until 4 pm at Hamilton Lanes in Hamilton, NJ. Everyone, young and old, is invited to participate in this fun event that raises money to support the local mentoring programs run by Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Every year hundreds of community-minded individuals solicit pledges from friends and family and come out to have a good time while they “Bowl for Kids’ Sake.” Area businesses show their support by sponsoring lanes, organizing teams of bowlers and donating prizes.  Sovereign Bank is the presenting sponsor of the event again this year and other event sponsors include Tyco International, Newmark Knight Frank, and Mason, Griffin & Pierson, P.C. 
Each participant receives a free T-shirt, lunch and the opportunity to win prizes.  Local stars, such as Miss. Mercer County and Boomer” from the Trenton Thunder will also be joining the fun. Fantastic Sam’s Salon of Lawrenceville is offering $5 haircuts and donating part of the proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Great prizes include gift certificates from Pizza Hut, Applebees, Cracker Barrel, Coldstone Creamery, Jack’s Café, On the Border, TGI Fridays, Red Robin, Salad Works, Panera Bread, Wegmans, Bed Bath & Beyond, AMC Hamilton 24, gifts from Barnes & Noble and a surprise from the Philadelphia Eagles! The group raising the most money will win seating for 16 in a private box at a Trenton Thunder’s game courtesy of Stark and Stark.

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to make a positive difference in the lives of children by promoting their self-esteem, expanding their awareness of life’s opportunities, and providing them with guidance and support through long-term, one-to-one mentoring with caring adults.  BFKS helps provide the needed funds to recruit, train, and support the volunteer Bigs who are the heart of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
