Princeton Township
Jose Lino Lopez, 45, of Hillside Avenue was charged with aggravated assault after he struck his housemate on the side of the head with a beer bottle at 9:30 p.m. Thursday and fled on foot, police said. The victim suffered a two-inch gash on his forehead and was taken to the University Medical Center at Princeton for treatment. Police said they located Mr. Lopez on Mount Lucas Road and arrested him. Mr. Lopez was taken to the Mercer County Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Hung T. Nguyen, 54, of Farmer Road, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, simple assault, and domestic violence after he threatened his family members with a kitchen knife during a dispute at his residence at 10:45 p.m. on March 3, police said. Officers responding to the incident said they found Mr. Nguyen standing in the foyer holding a large kitchen knife. Mr. Nguyen, who got into a dispute with two in-laws, agreed to put down the knife at gunpoint and was arrested without incident, police said.
Princeton Borough
Marc Andre Jr., 24, of Trenton, was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following a traffic stop on Mercer Street at noon on Feb. 27, police said. Mr. Andre provided a false name and date of birth during the traffic stop, according to police, who said a records search also revealed Mr. Andre had $1,830 in contempt of court warrants out of Hamilton Township, Lawrence Township, and Trenton.
Edwin Munoz-Castillo, 33, of Lytle Street, was charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Witherspoon Street at 9 p.m. on Feb. 28, police said.
Jeremiah Ives, 26, of Trenton, was charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Nassau Street at 2 a.m. on March 1, police said.
Nicholas Migliacci, 25, of Trenton, was arrested during a traffic stop on Stockton Street at 11:45 p.m. on Feb. 28, according to police, because a records search revealed a $730 warrant for his arrest out of Ewing Township.
Mercedes Rodriguez, 36, of South River, was during a traffic stop on Witherspoon Street at 2:50 a.m. on March 3, according to police, after a records search revealed a $464 warrant out of Trenton.
Mandy Johnson, 20, of Harris Road was arrested after a records search revealed a $335 contempt of court warrant out of Parsippany Township during a traffic stop on Stockton Street at 10:30 a.m. Friday, police said.
Jacob Fay, 25, of New York was arrested for shoplifting, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest after he stole two candy bars from the Wawa store on University Place at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, according to reports. Police, responding to the report of a large crowd at the store, said they discovered two candy bars had been stolen by Mr. Fay, who became disorderly and resisted arrest.
West Windsor
Juan Soto, Jr., 28, of Levittown, Pa., was charged with shoplifting from the Wal-Mart in the Nassau Park Shopping Center. on March 4. Mr. Soto passed all points of sale with three video games valued at $59.46 without paying for them, according to police.
Mercer County Community reported the theft of a computer that occurred between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. last Tuesday. The computer was locked to a computer docking station in LA Building 210, police said, and the room was left unattended for an hour. The computer, valued at $800, was found missing with no signs of damage to the docking station.
A Worchester, N.Y., resident reported a vehicle theft that occurred March 1 in the T.G.I.F. parking lot at Princeton MarketFair. Someone broke the window of the victim’s 2001 Toyota and stole a GPS unit valued at $200.
Michael Martinez, 19, of Trenton, faces DWI and drug possession charges in connection with a traffic stop March 4 on northbound Route 1 at Quakerbridge Road. Mr. Martinez was stopped by police for an obstructed windshield, police said. A strong odor of alcohol and burnt marijuana was emanating from inside the vehicle, police said. Mr. Martinez displayed signs of intoxication while being interviewed by an officer, police said. A search of the vehicle produced a vodka bottle and marijuana. Mr. Martinez was arrested and charged with DWI under the legal age, reckless driving, obstructed view and possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
Lamar Montigue, 29, of Jersey City, was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana after a traffic stop Friday evening on northbound Route 1 and Harrison Street. He was stopped because he was driving a Honda with an inoperable light, and a subsequent discussion led to the discovery of marijuana on Mr. Montigue’s person, police said.
Duren Funderburg, 29, of Trenton, was arrested after police responded to the Nassau Park parking lot on a report of someone possibly smoking marijuana in a Chevrolet van. An officer located the vehicle and a search led to the discovery of an open container of alcohol, police said. Mr. Funderburg also provided false information regarding his identity, police said. A warrant was also found for his arrest. He was issued summonses for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and unsworn falsification, and he was turned over to the Trenton Police Department for the warrant.
A 50-year-old Pennington resident reported a theft from a vehicle that occurred between 8:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday in the parking lot in front of Chili’s restaurant on southbound Route 1. The victim’s unlocked Honda was entered and $1,961 worth of property was stolen, including three tennis racquets, two tennis bags, three cell phones, one GPS unit and an iPod, police said.
Latifah Jackson, 18, of Jesup, Ga., and Shakeya Rhodes, 18, of Hamilton, were charged with shoplifting Saturday afternoon from Wal-Mart in Nassau Park. Ms. Jackson and Ms. Rhodes are accused of concealing about $350 worth of clothes in merchandise in two separate bags and passing all points of sale. They were detained by loss prevention until police officers arrived. They were both processed at the police station and released.
A 35-year-old Pennington resident reported a car theft from the Station Drive pay lot of the Princeton Junction train station. The victim reported that he had parked his 2000 four-door silver Audi, valued at $40,000, between 7 a.m. last Tuesday and 6 p.m. the next day. He discovered it was missing on Saturday, he said.
Barbara Eghan, 25, of Old Bridge, was arrested for DWI after a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning at northbound Route 1 and Quakerbridge Road. Ms. Eghan also faces drug charges after she was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia, police said.
Jamara Peterson, 33, of Trenton, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams after a traffic stop early Sunday morning on southbound Route 1 at Quakerbridge Road. Ms. Peterson was stopped for failure to maintain a lane, and was later found to be in possession of marijuana, police said.
Amy Lyden, 21, of Lawrenceville was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams after a traffic stop Sunday night on northbound Route 1 near Alexander Road. Ms. Lyden was stopped for a motor vehicle violation and found to be in possession of marijuana, police said.
A 20-year-old resident of Hackettstown reported a theft from a vehicle that occurred Sunday evening in the northeast corner of the parking lot of Chili’s restaurant on southbound Route 1. Someone smashed the passenger side front window of the victim’s 2002 Mitsubishi and stole a GPS unit, a radar detector and an iPod. Total value of the missing items was $440.
Montgomery
Zachary Keck, 26, of Princeton, was arrested Thursday afternoon after a traffic stop on Route 206. An officer assigned to the Safe Corridor for enforcement conducted a random motor vehicle registration check, police said. A total of three outstanding warrants were found for Mr. Keck, police said, totaling $465. He was transported to the police headquarters for processing and released on full bail amount.
Charles Zell, 21, of Long Branch, was arrested March 2 for an outstanding warrant. Mr. Zell was a passenger in a motor vehicle that was stopped for an equipment violation on Route 206 near Bridgepoint Road, police said. He was processed at police headquarters, where he posted $500 bail for a New Brunswick Municipal Court warrant. He was released pending an appearance in New Brunswick court.
Lisa Monday, 52, of Randolph, received a summons for failure to maintain lane after a two-car crash last Tuesday evening on Pike Run Road. She was driving her 2007 Toyota Camry eastbound in the right-turn lane when she realized she wanted to go straight, police said. She steered her car into the left lane without looking and collided with a 2006 Mercedes E350 driven by Shazia Khan, 40, of Belle Mead, police said. Neither party were injured, and both cars were driven from the scene.
Patricia Daguillo, 52, of Belle Mead, was issued a summons for unsafe lane change after a two-car crash last Tuesday afternoon on Route 206 near Route 518. Robert Kachmar, 64, of Groveville, was driving his 2001 Ford Econoline van in the left lane when a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Ms. Daguillo sideswiped his van, police said. Both cars were driven from the scene.
Nada Hemantharuja, 20, of Belle Mead, was issued a summons for failing to yield right of way at an intersection after a two-vehicle crash March 3. David Kuhl, 48, of Montvale, was traveling east on Orchard road in his Infiniti G35xs, attempting to cross over Route 206, when a 2006 Volkswagen Passat driven by Ms. Hemantharuja turned in front of him, causing the two cars to make contact. Neither party was injured. Mr. Kuhl’s car had to be towed from the scene.
Ping C. Carlson, 36, of Skillman, was issued a summons for careless driving after a two-vehicle crash March 3 on Dutchtown-Zion Road. Ms. Carlson made a left turn onto Route 601 when her 1996 Buick Le Sabre was struck from behind by a 1998 Lexus GS driven by Hong Cheng, 39, of Hillsborough, police said. Mr. Cheng told police that Ms. Carlson pulled out in front of him and there was no way for him to avoid the collision. Ms. Carlson said she did not see Mr. Cheng’s car approaching because of sun glare. None of the drivers or passengers were hurt and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
Plainsboro
Kian Lane, 30, of Port Charlotte, Fla., was charged with DWI after a traffic stop early Friday morning on Plainsboro Road. An officer reported seeing a 2002 Acura MDX drift out of its lane onto the shoulder twice and then drift into the right turn lane for Wyndhurst Drive while driving westbound on Plainsboro Road. After stopping the car, the driver, Mr. Lane, was determined to be intoxicated, police said. The Acura also had license plates on it that belonged to another vehicle he had previously owned, police said. The Acura was unregistered, police said. He was arrested and charged with DWI, license plates’ unintended, unregistered, failure to maintain a single lane and reckless driving.
A 10th-grade student of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North reported a theft that occurred March 3 between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. The victim reported a black LG Dare cell phone, valued at $400, missing from the men’s locker room.
