Dawn Marie Nee of Bordentown City
To the editor:
The elections on May 12 for Commissioner of Bordentown City come at a time of economic crisis. There are financial strains on the country, through the states and right on down to the towns and cities we live in. To me, it seems the viability and identity of towns like ours are greatly at risk. Change is certainly coming. How we deal, and ultimately persevere, through these troublesome days will define us. We must move forward with courage, sacrifice and vision.
I know that one of my three votes on May 12 will go to Heather Cheesman. She will be part of the success of Bordentown City. I tend to think that having someone on our three member commission who has not been an elected official is a strength. We need someone who is willing to fight for our city and who is apart from politics as usual. These are not usual times.
For those who aren’t aware, Heather is a breast cancer survivor. As a fellow survivor, I can attest to her courage and strength. She wants more for our community. I encourage people to visit her Web site at www.bordentowncity.org and review her ideas and plans for keeping our city healthy and successful. She believes in Bordentown City, and she has my vote.
