Capital Health to Present Poster at National Competition

Capital Health announced today that residents and faculty from the Capital Health Internal Medicine Residency Program will be presenting a poster at a national competition held by the American College of Physicians (ACP).  
The poster titled “Acute Wernicke’s Encephalopathy Complicating Bariatric Surgery” presented by Dr. Dalia Zaky Dawoud of Yardley, Pa., Dr. Ruhi Akhtar of Lawrenceville, NJ, Dr. Ashif Jethava of Franklin Park, NJ and Dr. Daniel Goldsmith of Pennington, NJ recently earned first prize at the American College of Physicians’ (ACP) Poster Session Exhibit and Competition at the Regional Scientific Meeting in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
It is the first time that an abstract submitted by Capital Health’s Internal Medicine Residency Program has been awarded this prestigious distinction.
“Led by Director Dr. Saba Hasan, this award recognizes the high level of medical education taught to residents in our Internal Medicine residency program,” said Dr. Robert Remstein, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Capital Health. “Congratulations to the residents, faculty and staff of Capital Health’s Internal Medicine Residency Program for this huge accomplishment.”
More than 160 abstracts were originally submitted from 19 institutions across the region. Capital Health will now be entered into the poster session at the National ACP meeting that will be held this April in Philadelphia.
