As part of the “Going Green” project at LIS, the LIS PTO is holding two fundraisers.
The Philips brand, Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs will be on sale through March 23, $15 for a four-pack. The sale is through Service Lamp Corp. and Philips Lighting Company. To place an order, contact Cathy LeCompte at [email protected].
The PTO is also participating in a recycling program collecting cellular phones, ink jet cartridges, laptop / notebook computers with processors of at least 750 Mhz, iPods, digital cameras and digital video cameras. The used items may be tax deductible and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations or refurbished and sold.

For more information visit www.sustainablelawrence.org. The energy efficient CFL’s will be on sale and the PTO will be collecting used consumer electronics.
The money raised will go towards the further greening and beautification of LIS, and a possible educational garden and outdoor classroom.
