New Hope-Solebury High School to present “Into The Woods”

On March 19, 20 and 21 at Stephen J. Buck Theater

   New Hope-Solebury High School’s theater club Mask & Zany will present “ Into The Woods” on March 19, 20 and 21 at Stephen J. Buck Theater. The Tony Award winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine takes a fresh look at classic fairy tales such as Cinderella, Jack and The Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel, intertwined in the tale of The Baker and his Wife.
   ”Into The Woods” features a cast lead by Aaron Sauter and Joslyn Kelly as The Baker and his Wife, London Clark and Connor Schwantes as Cinderella and Her Prince, Katie Cosner as Little Red Riding Hood, Mae Fairfield and Ari Oppenheim as Rapunzel and Her Prince, and Christian Johnson and Gabrielle Crimi as Jack and his Mother. The ensemble also includes performances by Brielle Appleton as The Witch, Emily Chukusky as Cinderella’s Step Mother and Cory McMillen, Mackenzie Rae, Libby Lucy and Alex Koblan as The Step Sisters. The supporting cast includes more than 50 students.
   Directed by Melanie Pittner, the production features inanimate objects that come to life onstage and characters who interact with the audience. Music director is Tom Bateman. The pit orchestra is directed by Band Master Dave Bachart. Choreography is by Jordan Brennan.
   Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. with a children’s matinee performance of Act One only on March 21 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance by e-mailing [email protected] or at the door. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students, with a $2 discount for reserving in advance. Tickets for the children’s matinee are $5 for adults and $3 for children, with no advance discount available.
