"CINEMA at the CENTER" FILM SCREENING:
WWOOF ‘n Wander: Opportunities on Organic Farms from Hawaii to the Himalayas
with Joshua Halpern
53 mins.
Joshua Halpern, the produce department coordinator at the Whole Earth Center, spent 9 months of 2007 working on organic farms in Hawaii, The Philippines, Thailand, and India, through an organization called WWOOF – World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (wwoof.org), which connects farmers in 96 different countries with volunteers willing to help on the farm in exchange for food, lodging and experience.
WWOOF ‘n Wander documents Halpern’s journey – celebrating opportunities to honor the earth on an individual as well as global scale, exploring the possibilities of merging indigenous, earth-based wisdom with 21st century permaculture, and introducing a passionate new voice in the movement to share the planet.
