He is state Superior Court nominee

Longtime Pennington resident Robert Billmeier has submitted his resignation, effective March 16, as Pennington Borough’s municipal judge.
Borough Clerk Elizabeth Sterling said Mr. Billmeier has resigned because he has been nominated as a state Superior Court judge by Gov. Jon S. Corzine and expects to have that nomination approved by the Senate March 16.
Ms. Sterling said council voted unanimously Monday night to appoint James A. Newman acting municipal judge.
About a half-dozen applications have been received from individuals wishing to fill the job on a permanent basis, she said.
