BORDENTOWN CITY — A man stole about $3,000 from Roma Bank Monday morning, police reported.
At about 11:45 a.m., police said a man walked into the bank at Route 130 and Crosswicks Road and passed the teller a note demanding $50,000.
He did not display a weapon or leave the note, police said, and he ran out the front door after the teller handed him approximately $3,000 in various denominations. No injuries were reported.
The man reportedly ran south to a side street, where police said they believe he entered a small silver or white car. Police were unsure Monday if someone else was in the vehicle.
The robber was described as a black man between 5-foot-8-inches and 6 feet tall and with a medium build, and in his late-20s or mid-30s. He had a mustache and was wearing glasses, a brown baseball cap, a tan zipper jacket, a yellow polo shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers, police said.
Roma Bank is offering an unspecified reward for the apprehension and arrest of the man and anyone else connected to the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Shaun Lafferty at 609-298-0103, ext. 28, or 609-352-4468.
