Ralph L. Stone of Bordentown City
To the editor:
I am writing to my fellow Bordentonians to tell you why I am endorsing Larry Denney for the office of City Commissioner.
Larry has lived here in our fair town since he was a teenager and I have known him since he was a young man. Larry has always been self-motivated, always working diligently to improve his lot in life, as well as the lives of others. In Larry, you’ll find, as I have, a man who sticks with things. He hasn’t flitted from job to job or from one politically advantageous stepping stone position to another. He found his niche in finances and worked his way up to the business manager position.
As a senior citizen and veteran of World War II, I know Larry with his financial know how will strive to keep the city of Bordentown fiscally sound and our local taxes reasonable. As you know, this is most important for those of us on fixed incomes, who have continually seen our property taxes rise. Although there may not be many of us senior citizens left in town, we as a group do not want to be forced to leave our long time homes due to the rising cost of living here in Bordentown City.
As his father-in-law, I can attest to the fact that Larry is a caring guy. I can’t tell you how many times he has helped me since I was debilitated several years ago. He always has a kind word for everyone and I never hear him talking negatively about others.
So please, I urge you to get out there to support Larry Denney. Vote for him for City Commissioner on May 12, 2009.
