   The Old City Hall Restoration Project is a group recently formed to fundraise and help pay for restorations to Bordentown City’s Old City Hall. This late 19th Century building is unique and historically significant. All are welcome to help in this endeavor to restore Old City Hall.    Bordentown Regional High School will have Project Graduation get involved in making the 2009 Bordentown Regional High School graduation party exciting, fun, and safe.    Bordentown Township Senior Citizen Club meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month at the Senior Community Center on Municipal Drive.
   Every Wednesday, line dancing at 10 a.m. Every Thursday, tap dancing at 10:30 a.m. Every Friday, dance motivation (exercise) at 11 a.m.
   The following events are scheduled for March at the senior center:
   Saturday, March 21: Silent auction and Mardi Gras celebration at 6 p.m.
   Tuesday, March 26: Bingo at 1 p.m. Members only.

   Stations of the Cross will be offered at 6 p.m. on Fridays from March 20 through April 3 at Christ Episcopal Church, 130 Prince St., Bordentown. Following Stations of the Cross, please join us for a light supper and fellowship. Cost for the dinner is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12, and free for children under 5. All are welcome.    The Lend-A-Hand Society of the First Baptist Church, at the corner of Prince and Church Street, in Bordentown is sponsoring a pancake breakfast on March 22 from 8 to 10 a.m. There will be an abundance of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, orange or apple juice, and coffee. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3.50 for children 5-12, and children under 5 are free. Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling Ruth Heitzenroeder at 609-298-6872.

   The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold a Flea Market on April 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s School Hall and Yard, 30 Elizabeth St., Bordentown. Refreshments will include our famous tuna salad or egg salad sandwiches and hot dogs. A large selection of articles will be on sale from our many vendors.    Shiloh Baptist Church, 104½ Elizabeth St., Bordentown City, will hold a trip to see “Behold the Lamb” at Millennium Theatre on April 4. Departure is at 8:45 a.m. sharp.    In honor of Arbor Day the Bordentown Shade Tree Committee will plant approximately 20 trees throughout the city on Saturday, April 18. Tree spots are available for residents on a first-served basis. Volunteers are needed to help plant trees.

   Saturday, April 18 — Bordentown City’s Old City Hall Restoration Project will hold a fundraising event titled, “An Evening of Cole Porter and Friends.” Come out and enjoy an evening of Cole Porter songs and show tunes by local professional vocalists Robert Violette and Sarah Blann. Crafts accompanied by piano virtuoso Bobbie Boulware. Both singers will entertain us with renditions of old favorites at 7:30 p.m. at Old City Hall, Crosswicks Stret.
   Parking is available at St. Mary’s Church parking lot. OCHRP will be raffling off two wonderful items. Nationally known local painter and illustrator, Al Barker, has donated a stunning oil painting of Old City Hall. Bike enthusiast Gary LaValle and local vendor Fred Reister of the Bicycle Pro Bike Shop have donated a new Giant Bolder Bicycle. Raffle tickets will be $1 each or six for $5. Tickets for “An Evening of Cole Porter” can be purchased for $25 at the following venues on Farnsworth Avenue: The Farnsworth Gallery, Silk and Tweed, Shoppe 202, Under the Moon Restaurant, from Assemblyman Joe Malone or by calling 609-298-6470 or 609-298-4332. Refreshments will be available for purchase the night of the event. All proceeds go directly to restoring Old City Hall. Tickets are limited to 99.

   The Bordentown Ski Club is a group of people who love to ski, love to socialize, love to travel, and are not afraid to save money on lift tickets.    The Friends of St. Mary’s School is having a bus trip to Penn’s Peak Restaurant in Jim Thorpe, Pa. on Thursday, May 21, to their luncheon show to see King Henry & the Showmen: “Uncle Luigie’s Family Reunion.” You will meet Uncle Luigie and his outrageous relatives including his comical Godfather from Vegas and his nephew’s All American Italian Band from Jersey. Th luncheon menu of a family style hot meal includes Penn’s Peak Pot Roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, Chicken Parmesan, Fettuccini Marinara, salad, rolls and butter and Chef’s choice dessert.    Save the Date! The 5th Annual St. Mary School PTA Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, June 1. The event will be held at Hanover Golf Club in Jacobstown. It will be a scramble format with the shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. We are looking for golfers as well as corporate sponsors at various levels to help underwrite the costs The price is $125 per golfer or $440 for a foursome (a savings of $60). There is also a special student rate of $75 for those 14 and under.
