   The First Annual Spirit of Chesterfield Township Festival meeting will be held 7 p.m., tonight, at the Crosswicks United Methodist Church in Crosswicks. The First Annual Spirit of Chesterfield Festival will be held this fall. The hope is to celebrate the rich heritage and history of Chesterfield Township.    The Fernbrook Farms Education Center invites you to find out how much a forest is worth on Saturday, March 21. This program is open to the public and is suitable for the entire family. Starting at 10 a.m., families will find out how professional foresters determine values of trees and forests. In the Fernbrook forest, participants will learn how to use tools of the trade that help judge height and age without harming trees. The highlight of the program will be watching logs being milled into useable lumber right here on the farm.    The Chesterfield Township Elementary School Board of Education election for board members and 2009-2010 school budget will be held 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, at the Chesterfield Firehouse. A reminder to all new residents in the township, you must be a registered voter in order to vote in the April 21 election.    The Fernbrook Farms Education Center’s begins its campfire series on Saturday, March 28, beginning at 7 p.m. The evening is suitable for the entire family.
   On Sunday afternoon, March 29, the third Summer Camp Open House is scheduled from 1 pm to 3 pm. Summer Camp runs from July 6-31 and Aug. 10-Sept. 4.

   Kindergarten Registration for Chesterfield Township Elementary School. If you are a resident of Chesterfield Township and have a child who will be 5 years of age on or before September 30, 2009, please call the Chesterfield Township Elementary School to register for kindergarten. Please call Chesterfield Township Elementary School at 298-6900. Kindergarten Screenings are scheduled for May by appointment only. All registration forms will be filled out at that time.

   Mark your calendars now for the Chesterfield Township Public Education Fund’s Annual Golf Tournament, Dinner & Live Auction to be held Thursday, May 7, at Mercer Oaks in Princeton Junction. Go for the golf, dinner or both, and stay for the auction. This is the Chesterfield Twp. Education Fund’s only fundraiser. To date, the CPEF has expended over $200,000 to purchase items for the classrooms as well as fund activities and programs for the students. Please plan to attend this great annual tradition.
