FUTURE FARMERS: Middle School Profiles

Middle School FFA President Wesley Bouchelle
I became involved in the FFA because my family is involved in farming and were members when they attended Northern Burlington. I became vice president in seventh grade and as an eighth-grader am now chapter president.
I have competed in the Vegetable Identification CDE for two years and hope to continue next year as a high school member. Last summer I went to camp with five other members and our Advisor Ms. McLean. We learned how to work as a team and made new friends with other FFA members from other states. I was selected as Camper of the Week.
I just attended a leadership program at Delaware Valley College. Out chapter has many fun activities as well as our monthly meetings where we practice parliamentary procedure. I have enjoyed helping with the Chicken BBQ the Senior High Chapter has at the Chesterfield Firehouse. FFA is a way for me to keep involved in agriculture and learn about all the different jobs that are available in agricultural fields today.
Middle School FFA Co-Reporter Jennifer Bucko
I love FFA. It gives me many opportunities for my future. I’ve had many experiences in FFA, but I would have to say that summer camp was my favorite. All of the activities, like horseback riding and tie-dyeing, were so much fun. I’ve learned leadership, courtesy, and teamwork – just a camp! Imagine what more I’ve learned through FFA meetings and trips. My advisor, Miss McLean, is a role model for me that I know is always going to be there. I hope to be an agriculture teacher because of her example. FFA is my past, present and future. I don’t know what I would do without it in my life.
