THE INDIA CHILDREN’S CHOIR IS COMING!
FRIDAY, APRIL 24, AT 7PM
The famous India Children’s Choir will be performing their musical drama Headhunters to Hearthunters on the evening of Friday, April 24, 2009 at
Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 2220 Pennington Rd.
(Rt. 31, just South of I-95), Ewing, NJ.
Hailing from the Manipur state in extreme northeast India, the choir consists of
22 children of the Hmar and other local tribes. Before being converted to Christianity in the year 1910 by a Welsh missionary, the Hmar were previously fierce killers of their enemies and were widely known as headhunters. The choir is sponsored by Bibles for the World, headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO.
Bibles for the World distributes free copies of the Bible around the world. The Choir, first organized in 1990, is composed of children from the Hmar and surrounding tribes.
Everyone is welcome to the concert which tells the story of the Hmar people, lasts 70 minutes and is free of charge. This promises to be a wonderful experience of art, fellowship, evangelism, and praise. Come hear this amazing story in the Choir’s first visit to our area.
