An opening reception for a student spring art show is set for 7 p.m. April 5 at the Hopewell Township branch, Mercer County Library.
”We’ve had a nice number of submissions and Linda Osborne, past director of the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission, has judged them and decided on the prize winners,” said Diane Miller of the library.
Ms. Osborne is a longtime Pennington resident.
”We have been very fortunate in having great community support for this project,” Ms. Miller said. “Besides the contributions of Linda herself, who has been very helpful in mounting this show and consulting on all things art, we have had a monetary donation from the Hopewell Valley Community Bank for the purchase of Utrecht gift certificates.”
The library also had a special donation of custom framing of the “Best In Show” by the Queenstown Gallery. And planners have had the help of Robert O’Boyle, art teacher at Hopewell Valley Central High School.
The prize winners will be announced at 7:30 p.m. at the April 5 event. The student art show will be on display at the library during April and May.
The township branch is on the northern side of Pennington-Titusville Road, between Route 31 and Central High School.
