Miss Handel, 51, of the Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold, died March 13, 2009. Born in Orange, she was raised in Morganville and was a longtime resident of Cream Ridge. She attended UCLA and completed two years at the Southwestern University School of Law, Calif. Miss Handel was founder and president of Nature’s Refuge, a nonprofit organization for abandoned and abused animals. She was predeceased by her mother, Rosina Handel. Surviving are her father, Henry J. Handel; a sister, Dina; brothers Henry and Eric; sister-in-law Kathleen; niece Christy Rose; nephew Eric Jr. and longtime friend James Luckowitz.
