A North 13th Avenue resident was charged Tuesday with possession of drug paraphernalia as part of a monthlong narcotics investigation by the prosecutor’s office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force in conjunction with the Bound Brook Police Department.
Tammy Izzo, 37, was arrested after police allegedly found her in possession of the paraphernalia after exiting a house in Bound Brook where the task force already had set up surveillance.
According to Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne Forrest, Ms. Izzo was seen exiting her vehicle at 9 a.m. outside the home of defendant Corey Troutman, in Bound Brook, entering the residence for a short time and returning to her vehicle. She was stopped by police, and her vehicle was searched.
Ms. Izzo was processed and released on her own recognizance.
Mr. Troutman, 22, was charged with second-degree possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, third-degree possession of heroin with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone, third-degree distribution of heroin, third-degree distribution of heroin within 1,000 feet of a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A search warrant at Mr. Troutman’s home executed by task force members, the Bound Brook Police Department and the Manville Police Department K-9 Unit resulted in the seizure of 279 wax folds of heroin, drug paraphernalia and $105.
Mr. Forrest said the heroin seized has a street value of approximately $5,580.
Mr. Troutman was taken to the Somerset County Jail with bail set at $50,000 cash or bond.
