The Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions, Mendham Township, is accepting applications for Leading Green, a new leadership training for individuals who want to create positive environmental change in their community. Deadline to apply is March 21.
Between April and September, 15 participants statewide will be offered special seminars on environmental issues and skill-building sessions focused on lobbying, fundraising and creating a promotional campaign. The program offers an overnight retreat and a series of three Saturday sessions. An overnight session will be April 17 and 18 at the Princeton Blairstown Center, Blairstown, and focus on personal leadership style. A session on sustainability will be May 9 at Rutgers University, New Brunswick.
An ecotour of the Hackensack River will be June 13, followed by a July 11 session on land use and open space preservation. A session on redevelopment will be Aug. 8 in Long Branch, and a session on air quality and public health Aug. 8 in Newark.
