HIGHTSTOWN: Councilmen to run again

HIGHTSTOWN — Borough Council incumbents Larry Quattrone and Dave Schneider are formally seeking re-election.
The two Democrats will have to win in the June 2 primary before they can become the party’s candidates in the Nov. 3 election.
Their seats are the only ones up for grabs.
Mr. Schneider and Mr. Quattrone had both announced on Election Night in November that they planned to seek another term on the council.
Mr. Quattrone, 66, was first elected in late 1999 to fill an unexpired term. He is seeking his fourth, three-year term.
”I really enjoy what I do; I like working with this council and I love this town,” Mr. Quattrone said Wednesday. “I really feel like I need to continue to give something back.”
Mr. Schneider, 40, was first elected in 2000 and also is seeking his fourth term on the council. He said developing the former rug mill property and the former Minute Maid plant site are among his biggest goals.
”I believe I have been a strong voice for keeping costs down,” Mr. Schneider said. “There are still some major things that need to be completed that will help the taxpayers in this town.”
