HIGHTSTOWN: Police Beat

   Jeffrey Torres Jr., 20, of Trenton, was charged March 13 with driving while intoxicated and drug offenses.
   Police said they saw Mr. Torres swerve into the oncoming lane of traffic at 11:34 p.m. on Franklin Street. Police said a search revealed a burnt marijuana cigarette in Mr. Torres’ sock.
   He also was charged with DWI in a school zone, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, being under the influence of a narcotic, failure to maintain lane, having a license plate light out, careless driving and reckless driving.

   John McHugh, 62, of East Brunswick, was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated.
   Police said they stopped Mr. McHugh at 6:32 p.m. on Main Street for having an expired inspection sticker and detected the odor of alcohol.
   He also was charged with DWI in a school zone, reckless driving and failure to inspect.

   Orlin Coyago, 23, of Springcrest Drive, was arrested March 10 on a contempt-of-court warrant.
   Police said they responded to a call of a suspicious male ringing the doorbell of a Springcrest Drive home when they discovered Mr. Coyago had an active warrant from Hightstown for $891 and an active warrant from East Windsor for $347.

   Larry Bulkley, 39, of East Windsor, was arrested March 11 on an active warrant for allegedly making terroristic treats in Hopewell Township. Mr. Bulkley was arrested at 8:13 p.m. in the parking lot of the Hightstown Borough Municipal Building where he was due in court on unrelated matter.
