(Lawrenceville, NJ) — PEI Kids, a Lawrenceville non-profit organization that serves thousands of children each year throughout Mercer County, is hosting its 18th Annual Silent Auction and Dinner on Sunday, March 29 at The National Guard Armory in Lawrenceville. Proceeds from ticket sales and auction items will directly benefit PEI Kids’ array of programs and services. PEI Kids is dedicated to promoting and maintaining a safe environment for all children.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. for guests to peruse and bid on auction items while enjoying a cocktail with dinner and dancing to follow. The evening will have a patriotic theme, which will strongly influence the evening’s menu and music selection.
Auctioneer Brian Martin, the proprietor of Alison’s Attic, an established, family owned estate liquidation and auction company that serves New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, will lend his talents in helping to solicit bids from attendees for the live auction portion of the evening. Live auction items include a four-night package for two to San Diego to enjoy a hands-on experience on Dennis Conner’s famous America’s Cup yacht “Stars & Stripes” where the winning bidders will get to play a role as a crew member while they race this 80-foot vessel around the bay. Package includes round trip airfare and a stay at the four-star Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina. For many years, Bob Vecere, Jr., owner of Vecere Jewelers, located at the Lawrence Shopping Center in Lawrenceville, has been donating a beautiful piece of jewelry to the auction. This year, guests will have the chance to bid on a gorgeous sapphire and diamond bracelet.
Other auction items include VIP tickets to The Daily Show, sports collectibles, theater tickets and gift certificates to area restaurants. A tradition at the dinner and auction is “Elaine’s Table,” which honors PEI Kids’ founding board member Elaine B. Zeitz. Funds raised from bidding on the auction items on “Elaine’s Table” go directly toward scholarships for Zeitz Camperships, which allow children from PEI Kids’ programs to attend camp. These children normally may not be able to attend camp due to financial constraints.
Individual tickets for the event are $130 but a pair will only cost $230. Sponsorship and ad space packages are still available. For tickets or more information, call 609-695-3739, ext. 29 or e-mail [email protected]. For more details, including more descriptions of the live auction items, visit www.peikids.org.
