ROBBINSVILLE: POLICE BEAT

      Joseph Hernandez II, 27, of Hamilton Square, was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated.
   Police said an officer saw Mr. Hernandez at 11:06 p.m. at driving at a high rate of speed on Union Street towards its intersection with Washington Street. Police said the officer activated his lights when it appeared that Mr. Hernandez was not going to stop at the intersection’s stop sign, and Mr. Hernandez was not able to stop his vehicle until he was halfway through the intersection.
   He also was charged with careless driving and failure to stop.
   Carrie Sharoff, 18, of Peters Court, was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated.
   Police said an officer saw Ms. Sharoff at 2:10 a.m. driving at 62 mph in a 45-mph construction zone on Route 130 with several other people in the car. Police said that after pulling the vehicle over, the officer observed a backseat passenger slip something between the pages of a book. Police said a search of the book discovered a fake, Pennsylvania identification card with Ms. Sharoff’s photograph on it, that indicated that she was 22 years old.
   She also was charged with speeding, careless driving and reckless driving.
   Michael Melendez, 22, of Trenton, was charged March 19 with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
   Police said they responded to a call at 8:47 p.m. of a noise complaint on Hutchinson Road. Police said that upon arrival, the owner of the home allowed an officer to enter, where the officers discovered three men sitting around a card table with two, partially burned marijuana cigarettes in plain view.
   A search of Mr. Melendez revealed four additional small baggies of marijuana.
   He was arrested and later taken to the Trenton Police Department on a $124 warrant from Trenton.
   Two vehicles were reported burglarized in the parking lot of the Workout World gym between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. March 18.
   Police said unknown individuals entered the vehicles and stole credit cards and about $170 in cash while the owners were inside. Police said the owners believed the vehicles were locked, but were not sure. One of the vehicles had damage to a lock.
   Police said the perpetrators then went to the Staples and BJ’s stores on Route 130 where they made purchases with the credit cards for a total of about $2,100.
   The Kadco Camper Center on Route 130 was reported burglarized on three occasions between March 12 and March 19.
   Police said the burglaries likely occurred while the business was closed, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 a.m.. Various camper accessories, including jacks and an air conditioning unit, were reported missing. The total estimated value of the items is $6,500.
