MONROE: Police break up bar fight

   MONROE — Police responded to a bar fight Sunday at 1:33 a.m. at the Clubhouse Bar on Spotswood-Englishtown Road that injured one patron and a police officer.
   When officers approached the establishment they witnessed anywhere from 15 to 20 people yelling and screaming in the parking lot, according to a press release from the Monroe Township Police Department.
   ”Many of the patrons were involved in the melee that was spilling back into the bar,” according to the release. “Backup was requested and Spotswood, Jamesburg and Helmetta each sent officers to assist.
   Police observed one of the patrons Glenn Davidian, 43, of Jackson, fighting people as he tried to retreat into the bar, the release states.
   Officers tried to take Mr. Davidian into custody, but the suspect resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, officers managed to take Mr. Davidian into custody and transport him to police headquarters, according to the release.
   During his processing Mr. Davidian became loud, argumentative and aggressive, threatening an officer, the release states.
   Mr. Davidian was eventually charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and making terroristic threats.
   He was transferred to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick, where his bail was set at $25,000 with a no 10 percent option.
   Two people at the Clubhouse scene reported damage to their vehicles in the parking lot, which consisted of broken side mirrors and a broken windshield, the release states.
   Police also called in the First Aid Squad to treat patron Tony Vitale, 25, of Cliffwood, who had a welt on his face along with a bloody nose, it states.
   Mr. Vitale told police that he was injured during the fight in the bar, but did not know who assaulted him, according to the release.
   One Monroe police officer suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in new Brunswick where she was treated and released.
