Leimbach will not seek FRHSD seat

HOWELL — Joan Leimbach, one of Howell’s two representatives on the Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education, has dropped out of the race to retain her seat.
Leimbach confirmed to Greater Media Newspapers that she will not be seeking re-election to a three-year term in the April 21 school election.
FRHSD officials reported several weeks ago that Leimbach was one of three Howell residents who filed a nominating petition to run for the seat.
According to the Monmouth County Board of Elections, Leimbach never submitted her name to be on the ballot.
The race for the Howell seat on the FRHSD board will now be between Bill Bruno, 56, the athletic director and supervisor of health and physical education at Brick Memorial High School, Brick Township, and Robert Nicastro, 42, a business owner and former law enforcement professional.
Under the board’s voting system, residents of Howell and Farmingdale will vote for the Howell representative in the April 21 school election.
Howell’s second representative on the FRHSD board is Ron Lawson. His term of office is not up for election this year.
