Alaetdin Evci, 49, of Roebling, was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle, DWI, reckless driving, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
Police said they responded to a call from an off-duty Lawrence police officer who said he was driving behind a vehicle swerving and whose driver appeared intoxicated.
Police said they stopped Mr. Evci on Olive Street and brought him to headquarters for breath tests at 10:58 p.m. A 5-year-old was also in the vehicle and did not have an appropriate child safety seat, police reported. Mr. Ecvi was released on his own recognizance.
Lisa Thatcher, 40, of Somerdale, was charged March 26 with contempt of court, failure to maintain lane, and driving with a suspended registration.
Police said they stopped her at 11:39 p.m. on Route 130 after she drove on the shoulder and then crossed over to the speed lane. The registration on the vehicle was suspended, police reported, and Ms. Thatcher also had a $500 Gloucester Township warrant and a $150 Camden City warrant in her name. She was turned over to Gloucester police in lieu of bail.
