Mrs. Foster, 80, of Eatontown, died March 19, 2009. She served on the board to help create Lunch Break, Red Bank, and its children’s program. She received the Monmouth Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament Award for Peacemaker of the Year in 1991. A survivor of World War II in Germany, she saved her father’s life from a Nazi soldier. She was predeceased by a sister, Elvira Schaefer; and a brother, Karl- Jochen Schaefer. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Foster III; two sons, Sam Foster IV of Milford, Pa., and George J. Corrigan Jr. of Hot Springs, S.D.; a daughter, Anneliese Zappia of Jackson; five sisters, Rosemarie Doepel, HanneloreWeilbach, Ingrid Bosshammer, Brunhilde Schaefer, all of Germany, and Marianne Liepert of Austria; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
