Mr. Bongarzone, 91, of Tinton Falls, died March 25, 2009, at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He resided in Long Branch, prior to relocating to Tinton Falls in 1955. He and his brother established Bongarzone Brother’s Nursery, Long Branch, in 1939, and relocated to Tinton Falls in 1950. He also owned and operated Burbon Kennels, Tinton Falls, with his wife. He was chairman of the Tinton Falls Shade Tree Commission. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Claire Burke Bongarzone; two sons, Ronald Rocco Bongarzone of Tinton Falls, and Frank Bongarzone Jr. of Wall; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Ralph Freda of Alabama, and Lois and Phil Visicaro of Long Branch; two sisters, Marie Pizzulli of Allenhurst, and Frances Hornick of West Long Branch; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. Interment was at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Arrangements were by Woolley Funeral Home, Long Branch.
