HOPEWELL BOROUGH: Flower sale and pancake breakfast this weekend

Events benefit volunteers’ efforts

   The Hopewell Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will hold its annual Easter plant and flower sale on April 4 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Hopewell Railroad Station, Railroad Place, and on April 5 from 8 a.m.-noon at the Hopewell Firehouse, Columbia and South Greenwood avenues, during the pancake breakfast.
   . The sale, organized by Lyle Kennedy, auxiliary president, will feature a variety of time-honored classics like Easter lilies, Asiatic lilies, Calla lilies, mini- and full-sized daffodils, hyacinths, tulips, azaleas, hydrangeas, Gerber daisies, and large palm crosses for grave sites. Other items offered will be a variety of Easter baskets filled with various flowers for gift-giving. Large specials orders will be taken in advance of the sale for those that are interested.
   The costs will range from $3 for individual plants to $30 for large planters. Both cash and checks will be accepted.
   The Hopewell Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary supports the community through the Halloween Parade, the annual tree lighting, the Memorial Day parade and many other events.
   The auxiliary’s main focus is providing sustenance to firefighters during fire calls, and by providing necessary equipment requested by the EMU and Fire Department.
   If interested in joined the auxiliary and helping support the volunteer fire department, monthly meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the firehouse.
