The South Brunswick Jazz Café was forced to alter Friday’s show after vocalist Marlene VerPlanck had to cancel due to a family emergency.
In her absence, Ms. VerPlanck has arranged for the Barry Levitt Trio featuring guest artist Zan Stewart on saxophone to perform in her place. Mr. Stewart is also the jazz columnist for the Newark Star Ledger.
Fran Nimeck, of the South Brunswick Arts Commission, said the performance still will provide a good show for jazz lovers in the area.
”The jazz café is a very informal pleasant situation for people who love jazz,” she said. “It’s a nice evening with a nominal fee for the entire family.”
The performance will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Herb Eckert Auditorium in the South Brunswick Senior Center, on Route 522.
Light refreshments are available and included with the $5 admission fee. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for first-come seating. All ages are welcome.
