COMMUNITY CALENDAR: Friday, April 3, to Friday, April 10, 2009

Two-part harmony: town and gown Melismas of Fury, a newly organized consort of young musicians from Princeton University and the Princeton community, will perform their inaugural concert, ‘Handel … with Care,’ on Saturday, April 18, at 3 p.m. in Nassau Presbyterian Church, Princeton. From left, Anton Fleissner, Nathan Pell, Erik Zyman Carrasco, Lieve Hendren, Emily Kirkegaard, Natalie Webb, Brandon Lee, and Saraswathi Shukla pose in the Henry Moore sculpture behind Nassau Hall. The free concert, generously funded by Mathey College, one of the university’s six residential colleges, is open to the public and features lesser known works of Handel (1685-1759). A reception following the program will be held in the Rockefeller Common Room on the Princeton University campus. Melismas of Fury hopes to encourage students to leave the ‘orange bubble’ of campus to share the fruits of their extracurricular endeavors with the community, the group states.
