ALLENTOWN — Two Republican incumbents and one Democratic hopeful are seeking two, three-year seats on the Borough Council.
Incumbents Jerry Rover, 58, of Poe Lane, and Daniel Wimer have filed for the primary election in June, along with Wayne R. Smith.
Mr. Rovner said his primary goal is to maintain “our quaint village” by maintaining the greenway around Allentown, and he said he has the connections to best do so. Mr. Rovner was first elected to council in 1979 and served until 1991 and was appointed to a seat in 2002 after serving in the military.
Mr. Wimer, of Greenfield Drive, served on the council from 1991 through 1996 and then returned in 2000. Neither he nor Mr. Smith could be reached before this week’s press deadline.
