Denney supporter

Rev. Darryl Jones, Sr., Pastor of Second Baptist Church of Bristol, Pa. and Bordentown City resident
To the editor:
Please join me support and applaud a homegrown, long time resident and friend of the Bordentown community, Larry Denney who has submitted and legitimized his name to become the next commissioner of the great city we all love.
My family and I acknowledge and encourage his decision and efforts to run to become Bordentown City Commissioner because for such a time as this; he is the right person for the job. Admittedly, Mr. Denney is a family man and a loving husband to his wife. I know him to have a proven record of integrity and accountability and one who has earned the friendship, respect and confidence of his colleagues.
Others who know him will surely admit that he’s serious about his responsibility to serve and has demonstrated a sincere concern for the well-being and welfare of all residents in our community. I believe Larry Denney understands the challenges facing Bordentown’s political socioeconomic circumstances and is prepared to take them on the moment he becomes commissioner of the Bordentown community. If I could paraphrase a remark he oftentimes makes, I’d say, he’s not a man that will tell you what you want to hear. He will tell you where you stand and will tell you the truth.
I know that for a fact. He’s prepared my taxes for almost as many years as I’ve been a citizen of Bordentown. As a matter of fact, more than 30 years ago, I met Mr. Denney when he worked in the Accounting office at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital. And ever since then our paths have crossed here in town, in various civic associations and in the field of human services helping people in need.
In years gone by he’s been a tremendous source of support to scores of people throughout the Greater Bordentown community preparing tax forms and other related fiscal matters.
Those of you who have known Mr. Denney can attest and will agree that not only has he earned the credentials and satisfies the prerequisites for the job, he is a dedicated civil servant, who is honest, hardworking, reliable and consistent. In today’s crisis, Bordentown needs a fresh administrator with refined and tested leadership skills who have the interest of all the people in mind and not just some of the people. Mr. Denney is a man for all the people.
And so, if Mr. Denney is given the opportunity to serve as commissioner, be assured, he will continue to demonstrate the highest quality of leadership and commitment that’s required to move us forward during these tough economic times.
In closing, please join me on May 12 and elect Mr. Larry Denney commissioner of the great city of Bordentown, New Jersey.
