A vandal scratched the side of a 2006 Nissan Altima belonging to a Sturwood Way resident while the car was parked outside the victim’s home between 7:30 p.m. March 30 and 11:30 a.m. March 31, police said. Damage was estimated at $750.
Someone knocked over two 3-foot-tall walkway lights and a Revolutionary War-era headstone outside the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, on Main Street, between 9 p.m. March 28 and 12:10 p.m. March 30, police said. Damage to the walkway lights was estimated at $350.
Someone broke three windows and also damaged an outside light fixture at the Capital Commons office building on Quakerbridge Road between 5 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. March 27, police said. The vandal threw rocks at the double-pane windows, breaking the exterior pane but not the interior pane. Damage to the windows was estimated at $1,500 and $200 for the light fixture, police said.
Three 14-year-old boys were charged with criminal mischief for attempting to ignite some playground equipment on fire at Hamnett Park, on Ohio Avenue, at 3:24 p.m. March 29, police said.
The boys used a butane cigarette light to burn a small hole in a plastic simulated rock wall in the playground, causing $200 worth of damage, police said. The boys were released to their parents’ custody.
Lavanya S. Raman, 37, of Plainsboro Township, was charged with shoplifting for allegedly taking clothing and jewelry worth a combined $316 from J.C. Penney at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 3:02 p.m. March 29, police said. She was issued a summons and released.
Andrew S. Lawrence, 19, of Green Avenue, was charged with drunken driving, reckless driving, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and failure to turn on the vehicle’s headlights at 12:03 a.m. March 29, police said.
Mr. Lawrence was stopped by police on Carver Place for failure to turn on the headlights on the 1999 Jeep Cherokee he was driving, according to reports. Police said they found a small amount of marijuana in the Jeep. He was released to a friend’s custody.
