George Karousatos of Bordentown City
To the editor:
I am a member of the Bordentown City Shade Tree Committee and the Downtown Bordentown Business Association (DBA), but I am writing this letter in my capacity as a citizen of Bordentown City. In my work with the Shade Tree Committee and the DBA, I have had extensive interactions with John Wehrman in his capacity as a commissioner of Bordentown City.
In those interactions, I have found that Commissioner Wehrman was easily accessible, highly knowledgeable about the issues we faced, very effective and efficient and worked with us tirelessly. He attended most of the DBA and Shade Tree Committee meetings, which resulted in his representation of our needs to the Commission.
Under his leadership, the sidewalks of Bordentown City are literally safer and the city is greener. He has overseen and ensured the repair and maintenance of our sidewalks which benefits all city residents. He has made the city safer through the pruning and maintenance of our beautiful trees, thus ensuring that dead branches and limbs do not damage residents or their property. He has also been instrumental in keeping Bordentown City green through the additional planting of new trees, which has made Bordentown City a “Tree City USA” throughout his term as Commissioner for the last eight years.
Our city seems to be better off overall due to the efforts and hard work of Commissioner Wehrman. From what I have seen, he works for Bordentown City for more than 40 hours a week, and his efforts are evident throughout the City. We need to keep him working for Bordentown City as our Commissioner.
