A township resident was arrested last week by East Windsor police on sexual assault charges against a minor.
Dwayne Schwear, 46, of Dayton, was charged with sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to police.
Police were investigating a report by a juvenile victim on March 25 at the Windsor Regency Apartments in East Windsor, where they arrested Mr. Schwear.
The victim reported being sexually assaulted by Mr. Schwear on numerous occasions between July 1 and July 30, 2001, when the victim was 9 years old.
Police said Mr. Schwear was known to the victim and he had a supervisory responsibility for the victim when the alleged assaults occurred. Police said the assaults occurred in East Windsor Township.
Mr. Schwear was turned over to the custody of the Mercer County Correctional Center in default of bail. While in their custody, Mr. Schwear posted $25,000 bail and was released.
